When a Dragon's Hoard is claimed or concurred y a mortal the lingering essece of te dragon infects the treasure. and so those who claim it could fall under tis sickness, becoming unnaturally greedy and hostile even to their own friends and family. If left unchecked it can have dramatic transformative consequences.
