14 - Arcane Happenings
Overnight
Kat you have an odd dream, glimpses of Halflar, of elemental planes, and of hell. Reading over your journal describes Halflar missing an eye and arm, he gives an ornate dagger to a brass dragonborn, and a set of armour to a human. Then going to a small tower in a vast field of flowers on gentle rolling hills.
Teleport to Sunwood
As you're teleported away from the confines of the academy you each see a flash of light and appear in a small clearing in the woods, all seems normal until you notice the same heat rising from your feet, looking down you find a copy of the same arcane circle found on the scroll but made of hot ash and stones, very similar to the crate found on the Caroline.
Looking through the trees, you're up on higher ground, in the distance you see the city, estimate it to be 2 hours away by foot, much less by giant hyena.
Learn the spell
I won't be able to teach you the proper version but I have been working on a modified version, as it's still early version can end up with 'mishaps' or land you off target, if you're interested I can teach it for 200gp and lesson usually takes 8 hours. The spell also requires certain gems and flowers costing about 50gp each time you cast the spell.
Hebaroot's Teleportation
4th-level conjuration
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S, M (precious gems infused with rare flowers worth 50gp, which spell consumes)
Duration: 1 round
As you cast the spell, you draw a door way on the surface of a large plant inscribed with sigils that link your location to a permanent teleportation circle of your choice whose sigil sequence you know and that is on the same plane of existence as you. Roll an Arcana check and a Nature check, add the results together and consult below.
Roll 0-10 Mishap: You and your group take 3d10 damage and appears within 8 miles of the target.
Roll 11-20 Similar Area: You and your group wind up in a different area that's visually or thematically similar to the target.
Roll 21+ On Target: You and your group appear at your target.

Boots: He's an arborist who has a farm on the edge of sprawl toward the North shore.
Ellis Large tree farm, rows of pine at various ages. A wide dirt path leads up to a large open barn where you can see piles of logs and a bit further back a well built homestead. In the barn you see a singular orcish figure heaving sizable logs onto a cart.
Ellis pays protection money to torment of claws, he thinks the party is there to collect or increase price even though he's already paid up. He acknowledges EKH are his initials but doesn't know about the scrolls.

Boots: He's an elf, CEO of the Gold Alliance but inherited the position from his farther, lives in a mansion in Lambert's Gate, guarded well paid guards. Not an easy job to break in and their bank and office is even harder.
Esybee “Kid” Hedwist

Boots: Top student in Master Hebaroot's classes, keeps to themselves but to a strict routine, lives in Tulip heights. Has been acting oddly past day or two. More jumpy than when first started watching.
“Kid”: Readily admits stealing a teleportation circle from Hebaroot, she used it, saw hell, returned home and returned the circle. Repeatedly apologises fearing for her life, offering to leave town and never return.
